GUGGULU(Commiphora mukul)


Commonly known as the mukul tree. It is used in incense and Vedic medicine. Guggulu has to be used only after purification since this resin contains impurities. Resin is used for arthritis, lowering high cholesterol, hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), acne and other skin diseases, and weight loss. Guggul significantly lowers serum triglycerides and cholesterol as well as LDL and VLDL cholesterols (the bad cholesterols). At the same time, it raises levels of HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol).

 

NIMBA(Azardirachta indica) .


Commonly known as neem tree. Neem is used for various skin diseases, eye disorders, ulcers, gum diseases, for birth control. It is also used as a mosquito repellent. Neem leaf paste is used as a home remedy for skin rashes.

 

GUDUCHI(Tinospora cordifolia.)


Commonly known as Amrutha.The extract is used in fever and in rhinitis conditions. It’s having tonic, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-arthritic, anti-allergic, and anti-diabetic properties. The powder of Tinospora is given to children by mixing with lukewarm water and in pregnant women also.

 

VASA(Adathoda vasica.)


Commonly known as Malabar nut. A decoction of the leaves of Vasa may be used to help with cough and other symptoms of colds. The paste of the leaves is applied to relieve inflammation, pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and skin disorders. Prepare a decoction of vasa leaves by boiling it in water. Add a spoon of honey and it can be taken to prevent respiratory infections.

 

PATOLA(Trichosanthes cucumerina).


Commonly known as Snake gourd. Fruit, leaf, and roots are used for medicinal purpose. With its properties including antidiabetic, hepatoprotective, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, larvicidal effects, patola is used for treating headache, alopecia, fever, abdominal tumors, bilious, boils, acute colic diarrhea, haematuria, and skin allergy.

 

BRIHATI(Solanum indicum)


One among the dashamoolas. Used in the treatment of respiratory ailments, dropsy, heart diseases, chronic fever, colic, scorpion stings, difficulty in urination, and worm infestation. The root decoction is administered in respiratory disorders like asthma, cough, etc. This herb stimulates and strengthens the heart and is useful in cardiac disorders and improves the condition of edema.

 

PATA(Cyclea peltata)


Commonly known as Indian moonseed. Enhancing immunity and preventing inflammation of the respiratory passages due to its immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. Used in conditions including infertility, wound, hypertension, and skin diseases.

 

VIDANGA(Embelia ribes)


Commonly known as false black pepper. This herb helps to relieve constipation. When consumed in form of tea it helps in the emptying of the bowel. It normalizes Agni and prevents indigestion. It has laxative, antifungal, antibacterial properties. Vidanga is generally used to expel worms and parasites from the stomach due to its anthelmintic properties. It is beneficial for indigestion and also helps to manage constipation due to its laxative property.

 

SURADARU(Cedrus deodara)


External application of the paste of Deodar helps to relieve pain, swelling, inflammation, cleansing infected wounds and skin disorders associated with pain and itching. Himalayan Cedar oil is also used in headache, arthritis pain, and infested wounds, externally. Devadaru helps to relieve cough by removing mucus from the respiratory tract due to its expectorant property.

 

DARUHARUDRA (Berberis aristata)


Commonly known as Indian barberry or tree turmeric. Used to cure eye, ear, and throat related disorders, Anti-malarial, Urinary troubles, anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-viral, treat burns and wounds, diarrhea, jaundice. It is also used for quick healing of wounds and paste of this herb is also useful in syphilis, ulcers, and anal fistula. Daruharidra helps to cure spasmodic pain and is very beneficial for patients of menorrhagia and leucorrhoea.

 

JYOTHISHMATI(Celastrus paniculatus)


Seed oil is used locally as well as internally to stimulate intellect and appetite, to sharpen memory, and to reduce headache and joint pain (arthritis). Jyotishmati is used in Ayurveda as a bitter digestive tonic and to enlighten the mind. The fruits and seeds are used in health supplements today to support cardiovascular and mental function. Extracts from the plant are also believed to have anti-arthritic, wound healing, hypolipidemic, and antioxidant activity.

 

KUTAJA (Hollerhena antidysentrica)


Prominent benefit in managing diarrhea and dysentery due to its antimicrobial activity. It is also useful for managing bleeding piles due to its astringent property. Taking Kutaja powder along with water after having light food to manage diarrhea and dysentery. Washing wounds with Kutaja water helps in faster wound healing due to its Ropana (healing) property.

 

MARICHA(Piper nigrum)


Commonly known as black pepper. Commonly used spice in the kitchen. Its properties include Antidepressant, Antifungal, Antidiarrhoeal, Anti-inflammatory, Antimutagenic, Anti-metastatic activity. Crushed pepper with honey relieves cold and steam inhalation along with eucalyptus reduces chest congestion.

 

KATUROHINI(Picrorhiza kurroa)


Commonly known as katuki. Used to treat skin conditions including eczema and vitiligo, a disorder that causes white patches on the skin. It is considered to be an important detoxifying or liver degenerating herb. Picrorhiza is used for yellowed skin (jaundice), sudden liver infections caused by a virus (acute viral hepatitis), fever, allergy, and asthma. CHITRAKA(Plumbago Zylanica)
